Talks from WebAssembly Day:

• Lightning Talk: Where the Server Goes, Nobody Knows!
  • Reading of a WASM comic/poem.
• Scratching an Itch: Running Policy in Hard to Reach Places
  • Talk about OPA
  • Was new to me, but seemed very promising especially combined with WASM.
• ⭐ Future of Component Tooling ⭐
  • This talk really blew my mind.
  • Shows of a lot of the power and flexibility of WASM.
• Serverless WebAssembly: Roundtrip Scaling from 0 to 10k in 10 Seconds
  • Demo of Spin/Fermyon: https://www.fermyon.com/spin
  • Looks really cool.
• Fruit-Picking Robots Powered by K8s: From Sci-Fi to Reality!
  • Super interesting product + technology stack, plus also just a good talk.

Talks from KubeCon / Cloud Native Con:

• Tutorial: Hands on with WebAssembly Microservices & Kubernetes
  • Short intro to WASM + nice first hands-on, has repository with tutorials that you can do on your own
• OTel Me About Metrics: A Metrics 101 Crash Course
  • Pretty much what it says in the title: Metrics are very new to me so this was a nice introduction
• Building a Successful Business in Cloud Native
  • No “planned” talk. Just a panel of 5 people discussing the topic
  • Was okay, mostly went there for Guillermo Rauch and Kelsey Hightower
• Inside Envoy: The Proxy for the Future
  • We watched the premiere of the film there.
  • I didn’t know Envor before and have never used it, so for me personally it wasn’t that interesting.
  • The film was very well made however and if you know/like/use Envoy then I would definitely recommend it.
• Tilt Your World! Lessons Learned in Improving Dev Productiviy with Tilt
  • They showcase the dev tool Tilt here. I didn’t know it before so it was a nice introduction for me.
• Can You Keep a Secret? On Secret Management in Kubernetes
  • Showcase of Vault by HashiCorp.
  • I thought it was neat and interesting, because I didn’t know much about secret management with Kubernetes beforehand.

I didn’t visit these talks but heard from co-workers that they were quite interesting so check them out:
